We are seeking an energetic, upbeat assistant to enhance our Life Enrichment Program at Ashley Gardens of Bremerton. We are the premier Memory Care Community in Bremerton.  We would prefer someone with Alzheimer’s and dementia care experience, and a desire to work with seniors.  Must be self motivated, able to work with very little supervision. You will need strong organizational skills and be able to help plan and execute activities. You will need to have a valid drivers license and able to drive our community van.  Currently the position is 20 hours a week, including weekends. Will need a current CPR/First Aid Card, and be able to obtain all required training within the states timeframe. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Mayor Patty Lent presented Willows resident Frances with a key to the city of Bremerton for his 100th birthday.

Frances moved to Bremerton from Albany, Oregon in 1940. He worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as an electrician and retired in 1972. After that he worked at a lumber yard for five years. Frances also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Frances said the key to his longevity is eating right and exercising, but believes the real reason he has lived this long is because the Lord has been very good to him. “He has always been by my side” states Frances. He said he owes everything to the Lord he has always kept him out of danger. Frances has lived at The Willows for five ½ years. He is happy to have his best friend Thelma living there as well. Frances and Thelma enjoy taking walks and shopping at Fred Meyer when the Willows bus goes there.
